My name is Jessica Reed and I live in Beavercreek. I grew up in Kettering and I am still a Firebird fan! Go Birds! I graduated from BGSU and was married 2 months later. My husband and I had our first child the following year and his name is Noah. He will be 4 in May and it seems so old to me!
I currently teach second grade and love my job and the people I work with. I will be focusing on second grade lessons for this project so that I can use them with my own students. On a side note, my students are working on writing folktales right now. Today I decided to take an idea from our text this week and have my students work in partnerships for the brainstorming portion. I first had them write about 6 or 7 ideas they had about the animal they chose to write about. And then had them share their ideas with their partner and their partners helped them expand their list by giving them some more ideas. It worked really well and they did great! I am also going to have them develop the rubric with me and we will type it in a word document for the revision part!
